I ran across this padlock and man can I cut down on my keys, my key ring is rather large...
These could work on roto choks, locks for generators, 5th wheel hitch, tripod, storage building, locking down ATV's and many more uses...
It matches to your vehicle ignition key...
http://www.stratteclock.com/applications.php
I did find the lock for the Chryslers at a great price here:
http://www.quadratec.com/products/55216_9000.htm
I am going to order one and try it out, heck I may order 5 of them to start, Tonia is probably going to kill me at $20 a piece...

One thing to be aware of is that some applications need certain sizes. These locks only come in one size. I have some locks that need long shanks, and some that have to be really short. They are slick, and when I see Wes I am going to see if his lock will work on all the places I have mine now.

That
I would go for in a heartbeat!! Still, a pretty slick idea. May have to try a couple. Thanks for posting this Wes!

They're padlocks. If they all unlocked, would you have to go around and lock them all one by one?

That would be a downside to have a remote for padlocks...
Unlock your truck doors and then run around and re-lock all your padlocks!!!
I could see my vocabulary changing after having to do that a couple times...

What happens when you change vehicles?
It reads "the locks learns permanently that key". Does that mean if you trade in your car/truck, the padlocks go with the vehicle?

If the lock is going to recognize a remote signal, it has to have some sort of internal electronics to receive the signal. That requires power, which requires a battery or solar or something.

OK, so you guys aren't talking about the locks Wes is buying. You are what if'ing some features you would like but they don't have, and if they had them, you'd criticize that option.

This is a great find, let us know how they look. I could use about 7 of them right away.
"Made in USA" I may not wait for the review.

That would be a great idea Hut, they would work great for the compartment doors...
No more like keys and this could be a first for an RV company, now if there is one that NuWa could use...

The keys work mechanical by inserting the key and moves tumblers inside the lock. Doesn't look to me that they can work by remote. Open one lock at a time w/key.

Alright, got the locks the other day and they work great with the truck key... They have about the same quality as the less expensive Brinks locks from Walmart...
With the long shank, I couldn't get it to work with the Kingpin Tripod... They work great with Roto Choks, cables and chains for locking generators and ATV's... The shank is a smaller diameter than your heavy duty locks... They will deter most people from walking off with your stuff but, a hack saw will cut them off like any other lock...
I also have a Husky 16k hitch and the lock does fit it, which is great to keep those people from walking buy and stealing your brake cord and pulling the lever and unhooking your trailer so you get a big surprise when you leave a truck stop or rest area...
For the convenience, they are worth it for me...
I would suggest buying one or two if you have Roto Choks and try them out...
