Dick is a fantastic person and here is a link to his story of how he developed it:

He also has great pricing on Honda Generators...   smiley

For Honda's, they are  easy to make.  I still kick myself for buying the parallel kit.  At the time, I had just had surgery and was running from Hurricane Ike.  I didn't have many options.

I bought one of the dual generator tanks from the guy Wes is recommending.  While you can make them yourself, it isn't all that much more to buy it ready made, and it is a whole lot easier.

This reminds me of the home made chocks.  Home made usually looks home made.  I bought the Roto Chocks even though you can make chocks yourself for less money.  I'll take Roto Chocks over home made chocks.  And I'll stack my dual generator tank against any home made one.  Saving money isn't the only thing.  If that was the main thing, we wouldn't be pulling HitchHikers

You can buy a 6 gal gas tank and a hose for $38.  I don't think a gas cap and fitting will be that much  more.

Price Honda caps.  For a dual tank setup you need two caps.  Sometimes  they aren't available to buy.  For a dual setup you need quick connect fittings for one of the hoses (otherwise you can't put the caps on).  Granted, making it yourself is cheaper, you save maybe $55.  For me, it is a lot  easier ordering online instead of chasing parts and making it work.  Another example is the Bill Steele screen door opener.  We all are happy paying $20 for about $7 worth of parts.  Somethings are worth the extra money.

And then the caps are $16 each and you still need to modify them to accept the hose. Now you're up to $70 at least. Then you need to get the quick connect fittings and put a fuel level indicator in the tank. The when you get it all done and the system isn't air tight it won't work. Bottom line. It isn't worth it to build it yourself.
