Hi all,
We have a 2006 29.5 HitchHiker LS with mid kitchen. We we are pulling the slide outs for the living room and dinning room (hydraulic) they will stop part way in. Then we have to wait for a few seconds, the mechinism will click like a reset and then we can pull them in some more. Sometimes it will take 3 or 4 re-starts to get the slide out completely in. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be happening? I will be taking it is for service in a couple of weeks and I would like to know if there is a hint I could tell the mechanic.

I would suggest contacting James Brinkman at Nuwa.  There is a thermal reset breaker for the slideouts located near the batteries in the basement storage.  We replaced ours with a higher amperage breaker - Nuwa sent it to us, its easy to swap out.  I can't remember the amperage right now.

This sounds like a hydraulic pump motor breaker tripping, then resetting again. The breaker may be underrated, you could have weak batteries, or there could be some other problem in the motor circuit. If you do a search, there are some threads relating to similar problems. Good luck.

I'm sure it's an under rated breaker as the others say. It is probably a 50 amp breaker and it needs to be an 80 to 90 amp. Change that out and your problem goes away! Many others have had the same issue. NuWa will probably send you one if you call them and talk to James. Tell him we all sent you to him!  cheesy

NuWa will send you another breaker, I had to pay for the part and shipping although NuWa knew they installed the incorrect part.  (I was told by CC at the time that the breaker was incorrect but I would have to pay anyway)  evil evil evil

I want to thank y'all for your imput. I emailed James at Nuwa and he told me to order a 90 AMp breaker and got me in touch with their order desk and it is on the way.

Also, it seems to me, that most hydraulic slides that act sluggish or will not move at all usually have weak trailer batteries as the problem. The hydraulic pump pulls 90 amps to operate. If your trailer batteries are not in good shape you can experience problems. Also connecting to 110 volt campsite power will not give you immediate help. Most trailer converters (110 volts to 12 volts) only put out around 55 or 60 amps ... when the hydraulic pump needs 90 amps. Your best bet is to connect your truck batteries, using jumpers cables, to your trailer batteries ... rev the truck engine and see if the slide movement problem disappears.

Not all the time.  NuWa had installed a 50 Amps C/B in some 2005/2006
units and did nothing about it until we had a problem.

Amen. My 2006 had a 50 amp breaker and the slide worked ok when it was new but soon started the stop and go routine. angry Had to put in a 90 amp and haven't had a lick of problem since. Roll Eyes

I would think a great company like NUWA would contact folks that had the incorrect breaker and replace it before they had trouble. cheesy A lot of good will is lost when one can't get the slide to work.  Sad
