The small gear motor that lifts the cover on the bathroom vent fan in my 2008 339rsb has failed ,the gears in the gearbox broke and jammed the motor up, I wanted to ask if anyone here knew what brand NUWA used for these vent units ? I will give NUWA a call on Monday but i thought if I knew who made the unit maybe I could find something local , right now I have the screen off and have been turning the gear by hand for showers. As always thanks in advance for any help or info , there is nothing about vent unit in the owners manual at all
thanks Mike

We replaced the shower vent with a Fantastic Fan.  They have an OEM model that exactly matches the setup of the old one (ie, wall switch for turning on and opening).  Unfortunately, I am not where the trailer or model info is and I do not remember the model number.  There was a Fantastic Fan crew in the campground and they installed it for me.  It was $230 installed.  The new Fantastic Fan is SO MUCH BETTER.... You could call Fantastic Fan and find out the model/cost from them.

Because of comments on this forum, I have made this an option for 2011.  I think we use the same one as used in living room.   As well service can add them for those wanting one installed.    MIKE

On mine, the fan motor and lift motors appear to be the same type of motor.  You should be able to find one at just about any RV dealer in your area.  You might want to take the old one out and carry it to a dealer to show them exactly what you need.

Greg
thanks for the help I think your right that the two motors are the same but my problem is with the small gearbox where the gears stripped out and then jammed, I have since found the motor on a few on line sites, and NUWA has some part numbers listed that sound like it maybe what i am looking for but without a picture its hard to tell whats what with the parts by numbers only. I guess I will just wait and call Monday thanks again

Mine broke too, the small drive gear split in half so I have been raising it by hand.  So far, I haven't been able to locate parts anywhere, guess I'll give the parts dept. at Nuwa a call and see if they have any suggestions other than replacing the entire vent.

Well so far I have learned that the fan vent is an Elixir the model number may be a V771232 but a search doesn't turn up anything with that model number. NUWA gave me the number of elixir the manufacturer of the vent and they show a retro kit in the repair parts list that says it can be used to repair  a vent van lift . The retro kit number is JRP1099B and says it fits Jensen and Elixir vents. I found one on line at Tweety's but the picture they show for that part number is just a crank handle, I will need to call and verify that it is in fact the retro kit ,it should be since I think it was about $35 way to much $$ for a crank handle.  I have spent my morning on this so thats it for today , I am going to give a local RV shop a call and see if they may have it now that I know what I am looking for. Hope this helps anyone with this same problem.

The fan is either an elixir or ventline.  The parts department at NUWA carries replacement gears for either model.  Sears can order parts for elixir.

Information for future use if your bathroom  vent cover lift fails, the part from Tweety's was the right kit , and fit where the old motor was, It is called a power lift retrofit, part number( JRP1099B  manufacturers #) and it is Tweety's item number 31-1878, the picture for that item is wrong on tweetys site but it is the right repair parts for the vent lift motor and gearbox $35 a little costly but isn't everything
