My SOB has aluminum wheels that were clear coated and I didn't realize that the salt sea air was starting to pit the metal.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can spruce the wheels up.  Are aluminum wheels on the Nu-Wa lines (HH11, DA & CE) clear coated or not?

I was under the impression that all aluminum wheels are clear coated.  Otherwise they would corrode quickly.  This is one reason why I ordered my trailer with steel painted wheels.  Once the clear coat comes off, you are into metal polishing on a regular bases.

Jeff, I can't quite see in your picture whether your wheels are white, or silver, or?  So you are happy with that decision?

They are painted white.  I am happy with having metal wheels.  When I upgrade to a CE it comes standard with aluminum wheels.  I won't ask them to exchange for steel.  Aluminum does have a better appearance, at least until the clear coat comes off.  At my age, I may not have to worry about that, by the time it happens I will be too old to care.  If I recall you are interested in a CE also.  I think a CE with white steel wheels would look funny.

My truck wheels started looking bad due to the coating wearing off after about a year. I was in Casa Grande, Az. and a neighbor told  me about a place that polishes alloy wheels for $5.00 per wheel located about 8 miles E. of town. I took the truck out and they used cloth polishing wheels and big angle grinders. After the polish, a chemical was rubbed on, then hand wiped. Could not believe how much better they looked than when new. Still looks good. $30.00  well spent!

They need to  be clear coated after being cleaned up.

If you get your wheels fixed up, a good coat of wax goes a long way to keeping them that way.

This is a fine Polish, for wheels. Alot of the guys on the SSD.com page use it.

Why do it by hand when you can use an electric drill?

I do like my PowerBall, takes a lot of work out of polishing the chrome.   Cool
