HitchHikers International Huh

It has just occurred to me, as an new and International member, why the club name includess "of America" as that would seem to be a contradiction in terms for "International".

It would seem that perhaps just "HitchHikers International" might be more appropriate. Hmmmm!

GeeJay,

Think of it as North America, not Unites States of America...   smiley

I have often wondered how the USA got to be America.  When, we are just one country in the Americas.

Probably because we were the only ones to include America in the name of our country.

In the international community we are usually referred to as the "United States" not "America". Estados Unitos, Estat Unite, The States, etc.

Bill, I don't see on the HH International website that actual ownership of a HH is mandatory for membership.  Do you know if it is or not?

Thanks,

Roy

I don't know if it is, but to quote what I found on the site:

"HitchHikers of America International is a club organized for the enjoyment of all owners of HitchHiker brand RVs manufactured by the Nu Wa Company.

If you own a HitchHiker RV you can add to the enjoyment of your RV lifestyle and leisure time by joining HitchHikers of America International."

The way I read it, it seems like you need to own a HitchHiker brand RV to be a member.  I found a link to this information at http://www.hitchhikerrvclub.com/about.htm

If you want to join, send them an email.  I'll bet you the $5 I am going to win from Debbie that they won't turn down the money to join.

Sorry Bryan.  6000 posts clearly makes you the Lead Groupie among the forum members.  I wish the Amigos would put that under your handle like Debbie's cheerleader thing.  A wannabe would only have about 1100 posts!   angel
