*NUWA ALERT* Decals spliting

I just went to my dealer to drop off my truck for hitch installation and take a look at my new 37ckrd which they have been keeping for me since Nov. All of the decals on the door side of 5th wheel have splits along the top edge caused by the freezing rain we received last week. The dealer is going to take care of this but I'm wondering if this was an installation problem or a something that will happen again when we get freezing rain. I think it may have been caused by rain getting behind the decal and freezing causing them to split. It did not happen on the other side.

I have to guess the problem had something to do with installation. May not have gotten a good adhesive because the cold (or maybe the applier didn't do the best job because of the cold. But either way, I am guessing that what you said is correct. Something got behind the vinly graphic and either expanded it causing the split (this is my guess) or the cold had some sort of impact on the "new" graphics. We have thousands of graphics out there, that are withstanding the elements just fine. Had to have something to do with being new and the weather. Should be OK once fixed. If not, I guess we will fix it again. MIKE

I bought the 5th wheel from Deans RV in Tulsa in late Nov. Its not a dealer problem though. They were storing it for me until I got back in town and got my truck ordered. They found the problem before I did and will fix it the next time I'm in town. I will be leaving before they can get the new decals in.

I have a 05 32.5 UKTG and where the decals meet the window frames the RTV that they put around the windows is lifting the decals of the siding. There is something in the RTV that is attacking the decals and dissolving the glue on them.

When we were shopping for a fifth wheel at Beaudry last September, they had maybe 8-10 2006 Nuwa's on their lot and nearly every one exhibited some sort of decal peeling or failure. Don't know why. Didn't inquire, but there thry were?

We have found that the intense Arizona heat hitting the same spot on a trailer (they never move the units) every day for a long time can impact the decals. This is most noticeable on Filon siding, where the dark decal actually can absorb enough heat to impact the filon material. We have learned to try and not send filon HHII units to Arizona dealers. The units seem to be OK if put into the hands of a customer, but if they sit on the lot in the same place every day for a long period the problem surfaces. As far as decal issues on high gloss glass, I am not aware that we have had that much problem in Arizona, but apparently the Summer sun got to some of those last year. We occassionally do have issues with certain graphics as far as quality and hopefully you were seeing a "group" of units that all used graphics from the same "batch", and thus the problem is no longer an issue. We do have to change graphics some under warranty. MIKE

Just for the record my unit has the high gloss sides, but the only decal problem is where they put RTV around the windows

I have a 2006 HH Premier and on both sides of the RV, about mid-ship the decals are coming loose just above the floor level where the lower skirt meets the sidewall of the 5th wheel. There does not seem to be enough support for the skirt and I think vibrations have caused the caulking to come loose which is turn has pulled the decals loose. The area in question is arouond the wheel-well. Basically I think this is just a lack of proper support, my dealer is taking care of installing new decals now. They installed both decals, however they did not properly seat on the high gloss fiberglass and have to be removed and installed again.

We were able to order new graphics (HH Logo) for the front cap of our '02 31.5 LKTG last year. Ours is stored indoors when not in use, most of the time since I am still working full time.
We appreciated very much that the decals were still available.
